How Text Interviews Work

Text interviews let you type your responses in a chat interface — no microphone or camera needed.

The Experience

1. After clicking "Begin Interview," you enter a chat interface
2. The AI interviewer introduces itself and asks the first question
3. Type your response in the text field and press Enter or click Send
4. You'll see a typing indicator while the AI processes your response
5. The interviewer continues with follow-up or next questions
6. When finished, click "End Interview" or the interviewer closes the session

What You See on Screen

• Message bubbles — your messages and the interviewer's appear in a chat format
• Typing indicator — appears when the AI is preparing its next message
• Elapsed timer — how long the interview has been running
• Text input field — type your responses here
• End Interview button — click to end early if needed

• Works on any device including phones and tablets
• You can think before responding — take your time composing answers
• No audio or camera requirements
• Great for candidates who prefer writing over speaking
• No idle timeout — take as long as you need

Tips

• Write detailed, specific answers with examples
• You can write multiple paragraphs — don't feel limited to short responses
• Proofread briefly before sending, but don't worry about perfection
• The AI evaluates content quality, not writing style
