Troubleshooting
Connection Problems
What to do if you lose internet during the interview.
During a Voice Interview
If your connection drops:
- The system attempts to reconnect automatically
- You'll see a "Reconnecting..." indicator
- If it reconnects, the interview continues from where you left off
- If it doesn't reconnect, refresh the page and restart the interview
A voice interview that ends because of a dropped connection or a refresh is never submitted or scored partially. You restart it from the beginning, and only the interview you finish by clicking End Interview counts.
During a Text Interview
Text interviews are more resilient to brief connection drops since each message is sent individually. If you lose connection:
- Wait a moment and try sending your message again
- If the page becomes unresponsive, refresh your browser
- Refreshing rejoins the same conversation with your full message history intact
Your text interview is only submitted when you click End Interview. A refresh, a closed tab, or switching apps on mobile never submits a half-finished conversation; come back through your interview link and pick up where you left off.
During a Practical Assessment
Your work is autosaved continuously while you type. If you lose connection or refresh the page:
- Reopen your interview link and re-enter the assessment
- Your editor restores the latest autosaved work; nothing you typed is lost
- The countdown continues from your original start time, so return promptly
General Tips
- Use a wired connection if possible (Ethernet is more stable than WiFi)
- Close other bandwidth-heavy applications (video streaming, large downloads)
- Sit close to your WiFi router if using wireless
- If using a mobile device for a text interview, prefer WiFi over cellular
